Senegal , a country of welcome by tradition, has much to win in favoring foreign investment on its land and the development of business relations with our neighbors.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Senegal wants to promote business relations between the United States of America and Senegal and also to favor the improvement of business environment for the American companies in Senegal and as well as in the other West African countries that do not have an American chamber of commerce yet.

AmCham Senegal is a platform of exchanges and dialogue between companies; our aim is to do a lobbying on behalf of our members and to act in such a way that the business environment becomes more attractive. By nature, AmCham Senegal addresses American companies which are already set up in Senegal, and those wishing to do it or interested in the Senegalese markets and/or West African markets.

It also addresses local companies that want to have business relations with the American market; especially those wishing to export a part of their production towards the United States of America or implementing a joint venture or distribution agreements and franchise with American companies.

Uniting our forces is the only means of being competitive in order to find our way on the American market; for a company operating in Senegal, understanding the Senegalese business environment is difficult even discouraging; because though Senegal is a State of right, many obstacles lie on the way of investors and the solutions to these difficulties need a thorough knowledge of the ground.

Our role is to guide American investors and local operators.

With the collaboration of other existing organizations, especially employers' organizations such as CNP and CNES, we will proceed by taking useful steps to sensitize the authorities on the risks that these barriers have on foreign and local investors so as to help improve business environment in Senegal and in the neighboring countries.

To join its members, AmCham Senegal organizes a thematic monthly breakfast which is sometimes open to strangers according to the nature of the themes dealt with. AmCham also does business environment studies and seminar meetings in relation to the improvement of the companies' capacities.

AmCham Senegal is not a closed club reserved to some privileged members from a restricted club of the business world; it aims at attracting as many members as possible.
